The Launching of e-Criminal Intelligence Gazette of AP CID by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh is a great event in the history of Policing in India. Hitherto a confidential publication which was being published fortnightly with delays and dispatched to the supervisory officers and to the Police Stations was a time consuming process.  On account of delays, Criminal Intelligence conveyed through the gazette hardly served any purpose to the Police officers engaged in crime prevention and detection. Ultimately, it became a ritual.

Now, the information about important crime and criminals including public alerts is online. The people can also participate in crime prevention and detection as the Website is interactive. E-cig, in essence, is an expression of Government of A.P. which underlines the use of e-governance for the benefit of the common man.
